Experience
Amanda has worked in the food industry for almost 20 years. After pivoting from a career as a private chef, she spent 2 years rediscovering her love for food by learning about sustainable farming and social justice in the food systems, staging in a fish market, and cooking in a midwestern lodge that specialized in locally harvested waterfowl. Soon after, she discovered America’s Test Kitchen and spent six years developing recipes and writing articles for print and digital publications at Cook’s Country magazine, as well as creating social content for multiple platforms.
Today, she is a food writer and recipe developer whose work continues to appear in print and online in America's Test Kitchen, Cook’s Country magazine, Serious Eats, and other notable publications. At home, you will find her creating simple dishes compiled from miscellaneous ingredients “raided” from the fridge, pantry staples, and what has been deemed "ugly" produce from local farms and grocery stores. If you can’t find her there, you will find her setting up a picnic for the people she loves.
