Lauren Salkeld
Lauren Salkeld is a New York City–based writer and editor. She uses her culinary and editorial background to help chefs and food personalities share their recipes and stories, by writing and editing cookbooks. Lauren has worked on numerous high-profile cookbook projects, including co-authoring Maman: The Cookbook with Elisa Marshall and Ben Sormonte and editing Meike Peters’ James Beard Award–winning Eat in My Kitchen. She’s also worked with numerous international authors, including Hetty McKinnon, Melissa Forti, Kille Enne, Sarah Glover, and Nevada Berg, and was the recipe tester and editor for The Cook’s Atelier by Marjorie Taylor and Kendall Smith Franchini. Her latest projects include co-authoring the upcoming Cake From Lucie: Recipes and Techniques from the French Countryside to New York City by Lucie Franc de Ferriere and For the Love of Houseplants: Caring for & Keeping Plants with Confidence by Tanner Mitchell.
Experience
After studying pastry at the French Culinary Institute, Lauren spent a decade working for food magazines and websites, including Bon Appétit and Epicurious. In her eight years at Epicurious, Lauren oversaw all recipe development, testing, and editing, and also wrote and edited features with the likes of Dorie Greenspan, Melissa Clark, Ina Garten, Gabrielle Hamilton, and Rose Levy Beranbaum. She's also appeared on CNN, Weekend Today in New York, and CBS New York’s 2 in the Kitchen, as well as in Epicurious’ Summer Entertaining Video Series.
